Disease Prevention

Medical Research has in the past concentrated on diagnosis and treatment of disease. We now realise that the way forward is to prevent disease. This is why we encourage the healthy population to consult with their doctor for:

  1. Blood Pressure
  2. Help to stop smoking
  3. Weight Reduction
  4. Cholesterol Measurement
  5. Advice on alcohol consumption
  6. Healthy Eating
  7. Exercise

It is especially important to attend for disease prevention if you have a strong family history of heart disease or stroke. It is also important to keep your tetanus booster up to date; this is currently 10 years.
